After work - tasks and fun

I think that the staff at the school were worried that we would be overwhelmed by the heat so encouraged us to leave just after lunch (school finished by 2pm anyway).  Mary and I would then try and find a mission each day. On our first day we had to unpack and buy some groceries (bread, peanut butter, tea, coffee) for our breakfasts. Matthew also had to return to Mangochi so we ended up driving him 25 miles to the bus terminal!!  Before he left, he also took us to the market to buy some bananas and flip flops (to use in the shower). We felt far more safe in this market then the one in Lilongwe.  We came home and had an AMAZING hot shower (even though it was in the dark!)
Other afternoons we would go to the Internet cafe or to the shops to buy water.  Matthew had left us the car so we felt pretty happy with ourselves, negotiating the roads on our own.
