Education Officials

The local education officials played a part in our visit as well so just after lunch we headed out to visit the Primary Education Advisor and the District Education Manager.  This would also be the case when we visited Nakoma School. The PEA is responsible for assisting the Head Teacher with the implementation of the new curriculum and statistics etc.  On the office walls both within schools and the PEA's room, there is a huge amount of data collected included number of orphans (either single or double) for each month, classes, absences etc. These signs are all written by hand.

What a cool way to travel around!!

The visit to the PEA was interesting but even more so when we headed to meet the DEM.  Alice got onto her motorbike to follow behind us!! She still had her lovely suit on but covered it up with a chitenza for the ride.  Brilliant!
